Give each garage opening its own description
When a property has two separate doors, describe them individually. A quiet door on one side does not explain why the other has started stopping halfway. Label photographs left and right as viewed from the driveway, and note which opener belongs to each opening. This keeps a request for one repair from becoming an assumption that every door needs the same work. If one door is unstable, do not use the working door as a reason to keep testing it.
Separate an immediate fault from a future upgrade
A door that will not operate and a plan to change the exterior are different decisions. Describe the fault first, then explain any longer-term plans for matching finishes, windows or controls. Ask whether an assessment could distinguish a limited repair from work that would overlap a future replacement. You do not need to settle on a complete new door before asking what information is missing. Equally, a new opener should not be selected as a substitute for examining a damaged door.
Bring the exterior approval questions forward
Atlantis publishes exterior alteration and architectural review guidance through its Building Department. For a proposed new door, take an image of the existing frontage and the intended design to the department before committing to the order. Ask how the proposed scope is classified and whether association approval also applies to your property. Keep that answer with the product specification and written proposal. Design approval, product suitability and confirmation of a service appointment are separate steps; one does not establish the others.
